About this blog
When can you say that you are an artist? It’s something I’ve thought about a lot. Even if you call yourself an artist, you don’t necessarily feel like one. Perhaps it is better (more safe and low level) to say that you are making craft?
I don’t know where I am on the scale between a craft person and an artist. I am serious enough, but I have many other things going on in my life for me to immerse myself enough to call myself an artist.
An artist doesn’t sell his designs either, so other people can use them freely, right? Or is it just another modern way of being an artist or is it something that makes a craft person?
I don’t really have any answers – only questions – so I’ll have to go my own way.
Welcome to my blog here at Urtica Design, where I will regularly write about my thoughts, post tutorials and write about my different kind designs I sell here.
For me, the most important thing is the process that leads to the designs – that’s what I enjoy the most. I also like to use design for useful and useless products. I am going to tell here some of the ways in which you can use the designs.
In here, it’s like on my social media and other websites: I only post when I’m inspired to do so – when I think it’s fun – I don’t have the “normal” goal of selling most – my designs are too much for that special and personal. I only make designs that I can stand up for 100%, I just hope some others likes them too…
